Image: Primary Care Team

All staff, receptionists, nurses and Doctors at St Catherines work together as a team known as a primary health care team.

We are there to provide health care to the community, and where a patient needs to be referred on for specialist help, to arrange this.

Although most of our work involves helping patients who are unwell we are also involved in health promotion, reducing the chances of someone falling ill in the first place.

For instance, like all primary health care teams we are involved in national screening programmes such as for cervical and breast cancer, and in the health of children through routine immunisation and developmental checks.

The team run a number of clinics intended to prevent ill health and also in helping maintain the health of patients with chronic disease such as heart problems, asthma and diabetes.

The clinical staff include nurses, health visitors and midwives in addition to Doctors, all of who are based at the surgeries but also work in the community and occasionally in Hospital. For a full list of the members of staff and their contact numbers, click on 'Staff Members' in the contents list on the left.
